Parent Responsibilities

Parental participation is essential to each youth’s treatment at MVJRC. Parent(s) or legal guardians are responsible, pursuant to agreement and court order, for the following: participation in Parent Orientation and Family Therapy. Parents(s) or legal guardians are expected to visit regularly.

Parents may also be responsible, pursuant to court order, for making child support payments while the child is in placement.

Finally, parent(s) or legal guardians are responsible for the medical and dental expenses incurred by the child during placement at MVJRC.

Parent Orientation is the initial meeting for parents of youth placed at MVJRC. This meeting provides parents an overview of MVJRC treatment and services.

Family Therapy is scheduled at least monthly with each family by an MVJRC Mental Health Therapist. Parents are required to participate for the duration of their child’s placement.

Visitation is limited to parents or legal guardians, who are expected to visit at least four (4) times each month. Visitation is by appointment only, and is scheduled two days each week as follows:

                           Wednesday      7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
                           Sunday             1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
